Your existing tank

What happens to your current tank?

Bulk tanks are often owned by the supplier, so switching usually means the old tank is removed and a new one put in.

When your contract ends, your outgoing supplier will normally arrange to collect their tank. Some charge a fee for this, known as a tank uplift or removal fee. That is the cost our switching offer helps with.

We’ll plan the new installation alongside the old tank’s removal, so the changeover is organised and you know what to expect. See LPG tanks for tank options.

Check your contract or ask us to help. Send us what you have and we’ll talk it through.

FAQs

Bulk switching questions.

Common questions about switching bulk LPG.

It depends on who owns it and the terms of your contract. Tell us about your tank and we’ll explain your options.

Check your current contract, as arrangements for remaining gas vary between suppliers. We’ll help you plan timings to keep waste to a minimum.

A switch should be planned so your business keeps its gas. We agree timings with you around your contract end date and the changeover of any tank, so you know what will happen and when.

Look for the contract end date, the notice period, who owns the tank and any charges for ending the agreement or removing the tank. If you’re unsure, send us what you have and we’ll help you make sense of it.

Bulk commercial customers only. We’ll cover the outgoing supplier’s tank uplift fees up to a total value of £1,000, paid as credit on your Rectory Gas Supplies customer account. Terms apply.
