Cylinders are the simplest way to run gas equipment without a fixed tank. We help you choose the right gas and size for the job, then keep you supplied with deliveries that fit around your business.

Choosing cylinders

Four questions that get you the right supply.

You don’t need to know the answers before you call us, but thinking about them speeds up your quote.

Which gas?

Propane works outdoors and in the cold, so it suits most commercial uses. Butane suits some indoor equipment. Propane or butane?

Which size?

Bigger cylinders mean fewer changes; smaller ones are easier to move. Your equipment and space decide it. See cylinder sizes.

How much, how often?

A rough idea of weekly or monthly use lets us suggest how many cylinders to keep on site and how often to deliver.

Where will they be stored?

Cylinders need a secure, ventilated outdoor space away from drains and ignition sources. Storage guidance.

How supply works

Ordering cylinders from Rectory.

Once we’ve agreed the right gas and cylinders for your business, ordering is simple.

  1. Order by phone or email. Call 01759 371 305 or email info@rectorygassupplies.co.uk. If no one can answer, you can leave your order on our voicemail.
  2. We deliver. Most of our cylinder orders are delivered the same or next working day.
  3. We take your empties. Leave your empty cylinders ready and we’ll swap them for full ones on delivery.
  4. Repeat when you need to. Order as you go, or talk to us about a regular delivery pattern for busy periods.

Thinking about bulk instead?

If you get through a lot of cylinders, a bulk LPG tank can save handling time and keep gas flowing without changeovers. We supply both, so we’ll give you an honest view of which makes more sense.

Order your next delivery through customer support or call us on 01759 371 305.

FAQs

Gas cylinder questions.

Short answers to the questions businesses ask us most about cylinders.

It depends on your equipment, where it’s used and how much gas you get through. Propane is the usual choice for commercial use because it works outdoors and in cold weather. Tell us about your equipment and we’ll recommend the gas and size. Our cylinder sizes guide explains the options.

Most of our cylinder orders are delivered the same or next working day. Send us your postcode and we’ll confirm delivery for your site. More on cylinder delivery.

When you order, we deliver full cylinders and collect your empties at the same time. Gas cylinders are usually owned by the supplier that filled them, so we’ll explain how it works for your account when you set up supply.

Yes. If you use cylinders every week or have predictable busy periods, talk to us about a regular delivery pattern so you’re not left ordering at the last minute.

Prices depend on the gas, the cylinder size, how many you need and where you are, so we quote for your business rather than publish a price list. Request a cylinder quote and we’ll come back to you.

We deliver across most of the east of England from our main depot at Scrayingham, near York, and our other depots. Send us your site postcode with your quote request, or call 01759 371 305, and we’ll confirm whether we can supply you.
